Alexandra Cehan is Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Geography and Geology,
“Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, Romania. Her research interests are primarily
centered on tourism collaboration, tourism development, and the application of Social
Network Analysis for the study of stakeholders’ networks. Over the past several years,
she has been actively involved in teaching classes on Tourism Geography, Tourism Planning,
and Population Geography.

During the last years, Alexandra has published several research papers in reputable academic
journals, as main author or co-author. Her work earned her two research awards (Danubius
Young Scientist Award in 2023, Best PhD Paper Award offered during CAUTHE 2021) that highlight
her contribution to research in her field.

Currently, she is engaged as researcher in two important research projects. The first one
investigates spatial inequalities and the key factors influencing local development (TEPS).
In this project, her main roles are related to quantitative analysis of historical data related
to social and economic development and to the analysis of stakeholders’ networks in medium-sized
towns. The project explores various dimensions of subjective well-being (SAGES), aiming to
contribute to a deeper understanding of quality-of-life indicators at regional and local levels.
In this project, Alexandra is focused in particular on geographical factors influencing individuals’
wellbeing and on the relationship between tourism and wellbeing.
